The Yorkshire Geological Society is the major society producing academic papers covering the geology of the Partnership Area. Other local societies include the Craven and Pendle Geological Society, the Leeds Geological Association, Cumberland Geological Society, Westmorland Geological Society, and the Open University Geological Society (Yorkshire).
